Our Vision

We set out to produce a range of work boots that wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg but was tough enough to handle NZ conditions. We knew that boots had to be wide enough to handle our wide feet and well built to tackle NZ’s rain and mud.

After trekking to all corners of the globe looking for something decent we were forced to come back empty handed. That’s when Kiwi ingenuity kicked in and the Apex range was born. We did our homework. It took a while to sort the right materials, get the right quality and the right leathers - we had to say “No thanks” to plenty of offers. But all good things take time and now we're chuffed with the result.

Our History

Apex Footwear is designed and distributed in New Zealand by Wholesale Boots NZ Ltd. We are a family owned business and all our profits stay right here in NZ. 

Apex Footwear is now available all over New Zealand as well as some of the islands in the South Pacific

Previously, Apex Footwear was known as No.8 Footwear.

Built on our proud tradition of making anything work with a bit of ingenuity and some fencing wire, we took that pioneering spirit and designed a range of safety footwear especially for our unique conditions.

Because Apex Footwear is about innovation, our range is named in honour of Kiwis that capture that, can do, spirit. Kiwis who have made a significant contribution to New Zealand's history.

Fit for a Kiwi's foot

Apex Footwear is designed by Kiwis, for Kiwis. Our boots have a wide fit, because Kiwis have wider feet and need more room to be comfortable. If you have a job to do and need your footwear to perform at its peak all day, everyday, then Apex are the boots for you. Stronger, safer, wider and amazingly comfortable . . . and they don't cost the earth. What more could you want?
